I first connected with Mothers Against Gang Violence (MAGV) when they moved into the building where one of my photographs had been transformed into a mural. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of documenting their work on an ongoing basis in Atlanta, Georgia. From major events like their grand opening to the day-to-day impact they create with their mentees—through alternative classrooms, group therapy sessions, and creative pursuits at their new community center—I’ve captured the powerful and transformative work MAGV continues to bring to the community.
